About

Tirana has transformed from a grey communist capital into one of the Balkans' liveliest cities, with painted buildings, a huge café culture, a growing restaurant scene and new towers rising everywhere. The Blloku district, once reserved for the party elite, is now full of bars and cafés. It is cheap, social and very close to mountains and the coast, but traffic, construction noise and air quality can be tiring.
