Visa-Free Entry

Most European, North American, Latin American and developed Asian passports enter Argentina without a visa as transitory residents for 90 days, extendable once for another 90 at the national migration office. A few nationalities, such as Malaysia and Kazakhstan, get 30 days. Since 2025 every visitor must declare that they hold health insurance covering their stay. Visa-free visitors cannot work in Argentina.

Good to know

  • Extend online before day 90 rather than making a border run
  • Crossing to Uruguay and back restarts the 90 days in practice, but repeated runs draw attention
  • Overstays are fined at departure
  • Remote work on a tourist entry is not formally allowed
