Technically its own municipality, Envigado sits directly south of El Poblado and functions as the quiet, family-oriented alternative. It has a proper town square, local restaurants, its own metro station and almost no foreign presence. Rents are among the lowest in the metropolitan area for the quality, and it is safer than most of the city. The trade-off is distance from the social scene and a near-total absence of English.
