About

Zadar is a smaller, more relaxed alternative to Split. Its old town sits on a peninsula surrounded by sea, with Roman ruins, the Sea Organ that plays with the waves and sunsets Alfred Hitchcock reportedly called the most beautiful in the world. National parks such as Paklenica, Krka and Plitvice are within reach, as are dozens of islands. Like the rest of the coast it is seasonal, and living outside the peninsula makes parking and shopping easier.
