Visa Exemption

Vietnam waives the visa requirement for a limited group of nationalities, extended from 15 to 45 days in 2023. It covers most of Western Europe, Japan, South Korea, Russia and Belarus, plus shorter allowances for ASEAN neighbours. For trips under 45 days it saves the e-visa fee and the application, but the e-visa gives twice the duration for USD 25, so most longer-stay visitors apply anyway.

25 nationalities are on the eligible list. Anyone not listed applies through a different route.
