Seongsu was a shoe-manufacturing district and is now where Seoul's design studios, startups and third-wave coffee have concentrated. Red-brick warehouses hold galleries and roasteries, Heyground anchors the social-impact and startup coworking scene, and the Han river park is a few minutes south. It is quieter than Hongdae and less corporate than Gangnam, with rents in between. It is also gentrifying quickly, so the value is not what it was three years ago.
