Since July 2024 Thailand grants 60 days visa-free to nationals of around 93 countries, up from the previous 30. It is the simplest way in and covers most short and medium stays, especially combined with the 30-day extension available at any immigration office. It is not a work visa, and repeated back-to-back entries will eventually draw questions at the border.

- Overstay is fined at THB 500 per day up to THB 20,000, and long overstays trigger multi-year re-entry bans
- Extending at a provincial immigration office is usually faster than Bangkok's Chaeng Watthana
- Remote work on a tourist entry sits in a grey zone that Thailand tolerates in practice but has never formally legalised
